The Huntington Library

Had a date with myself at the Huntington after a rigorous, intense interview in Pasadena. Incidentally, the Huntington Library was just down the street, so I decided it was the perfect spot to unwind. It was a little hot, but still a beautiful Pasadena day – plus, I wanted to take advantage of the great lighting.

The Japanese Garden was easily my favorite. I found some shade next to a stream, on the best patch of grass overlooking the koi pond. It was the perfect place to shut the world out and meditate.

Though it may get crowded and a little too hot, I recommend visiting sometime in the summer – needless to say: it’s beautiful! First Thursdays are free – get your tickets in advance from their website. Bring those green thumbs in your family or group of friends, they’ll love it.
